The South's First LEED Certification

MarketStreet Enterprises led the effort to secure LEED-ND (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Neighborhood Development) certification for the Gulch with the help of LEED facilitator Looney Ricks Kiss (LRK). After 18 months of work, the Gulch achieved Silver-level certification in January 2009.

As the 10th U.S. project and 13th globally to earn this distinction, the Gulch stands out for its commitment to smart growth, urbanism, and green design. It remains a leading example of sustainable community development in the region.
